If you incorporate without a name, the corporation will be given a number that serves as your corporation’s legal identifier. You can still use a tradename, but any official business you conduct, such as signing cheques or contracts, will need to be done under your corporation’s legal identifier.

Translated version of the proposed legal name*

When you register your incorporation in Québec, you must submit a French version of your proposed name. To be accepted, the French name must contain only words found in the Larousse dictionary, though coined words (i.e. like Google) that are neither French nor English may also be approved if you provide a sufficient explanation. Don't have a French version? write "HELP" and we'll get in touch with you.

Often referred to as the corporation's "black book", it's tool corporations use to organize and document their key corporate records. It holds the corporation’s by-laws, resolutions, share descriptions, registers and share certificates.
