The franchise fee (also called the “initial franchise fee”) is the payment made by a franchisee to the franchisor for joining the franchise system.

Almost all franchises have an ongoing monthly or weekly franchise fee (commonly referred to as a royalty fee). This fee is typically expressed as a percentage of the gross sales revenue of the business for the previous month. Speak to your lawyer if the % changes over the term of the Agreement.
